This is me in my Miami art studio with my books, probably one of the places I am happiest (when it's clean!) Photograph courtesy Gwen Williams.

Mariah Fox Hausman comes from a family of artists and teachers and grew up outside Santa Fe, New Mexico and Port Maria, Jamaica. She has used illustration as a core method to express dream, fantasy and reality imagery since she began to draw at the age of four. Mariah attended the Kansas City Art Institute before she graduated from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in 1994 with a BFA in Illustration & Graphic Design. After undergraduate school, she worked as an art director, illustrator and freelancer for several Miami firms, and in 2001, she founded her own company, Ital Art. In 2007, Mariah earned an MFA in Multimedia from University of Miami.

Mariah's work has been exhibited in Santa Fe, Miami, Blue Hill, Maine and Kingston, Jamaica. She has contributed art to twenty-two books and ten publishers, including several major New York houses. In 1999, she won two local Addy Awards for her graphic designs. Ital Art provides graphic and illustrative artwork for a variety of clients.

Mariah enjoys teaching art classes, writing on art movements and art, and designing workshops for people of all ages. When not creating art, Mariah lectures full time on electronic media and graphic design for the department of Art and Art History at the University of Miami.

Mariah Fox is married and has three children.
